“Whitney Winds” can truly be a walk back in time. You will begin relaxing during your ferry ride to Vinalhaven, a small village populated with visitors and year round residents such as lobster fisherman, carpenters, and artists or supporting the small community. Whitney Winds has been my family home and I am happy to open it to visitors to experience the healing that can happen when you are so close to nature. From hiking to mountain biking to kayaking, this is where you go to get away from it all.
We are also suitable for large groups, there is more than enough room for everyone to enjoy themselves in a peaceful fun-loving setting. Privacy is ensured and all the modern amenities are at your disposal.
“Whitney Winds” remove space here is one of our lovely private country getaways adjacent to 50 acres of preservation and waterfront property. There is a dock (tidal waters).
Enjoy country living in the enchanting haven of Vinalhaven, Maine a picturesque country vacation like no other. The house is located about 2 miles from town. Bring your bikes. It is a fabulous place to ride.
A picturesque photographic haven for all seasons. Complete tranquility and serenity allow you to fully appreciate the natural wildlife, flora and fauna that surround this seasonal home. You will often find deer grazing along the waters edge. There are many birds as well.
Being in Vinalhaven is like going back in time. There is a small town setting along Main Street with a few specialized shops, restaurants and an outside ice cream stand. Life is quiet and there are many interesting people on this island from authors to artists like Robert Indiana.
The closest airport is in Rockland and then there is a 1 1/4 hour ferry ride. Be sure to book your ferry.

An open first floor concept with a large deck overlooking the water. Walk in and see lovely fieldstone fireplace in front of you flanked by 9’ of French doors opening to the living room on the left and the dining room on the right. There is a 16’ x 16’ screened/glassed porch with a dining table here. The newly 2014 renovated upgraded 14’ horseshoe kitchen has granite counter tops and new stove, dishwasher and counter appliances, with bar stools. There is a laundry room immediately on your left as you walk in with a sink, extra refrigerator and washer/dryer. Just past the stairs there is a den with a Wi-Fi TV and queen sofa bed. There is a queen bed room also. There is a full bath on the first floor.
